Kimberley golf club, which was founded in 1890, houses the Freddie Tait Golf Museum – the first of its kind on the African continent.

Freddie Tait was an amateur golf champion, hailing from Britain, who won two major tournaments in 1896 and 1898. He sadly died in 1900 during the Anglo-Boer war.

The museum showcases trophies and artefacts from the very beginnings of this sport in Kimberley, and makes for an interesting and scenic outing for the entire family.

The course at the club was designed by Bob Grimsdell.
